Today I had an extremely challenging day. We’ve all had that day — the one where everything goes wrong and you just want to shout and throw things. But you don’t, you just shoulder on. I got home, exhausted to the point of mental numbness, and El Hombre cracked open a bottle of wine and we just sat. He didn’t want to hear about it and I just didn’t want to talk. But after dinner (and maybe another glass of wine) I sat down, read my book for awhile and decompressed.
And really, it’s not that bad. There are always going to be crap days, right?
Lately I have seen my friends posting daily about what they are thankful for. I’m thankful that I have a wonderful significant other who can make me laugh, even in the blackest of moods. I’m thankful that I have a job and can pay my bills. I’m thankful for my wonderful family and friends, and I am thankful to work with an awesome team of people who work together to get things done – rather than sit back and watch you fail.
I am also EXTREMELY thankful that I have a long weekend.
And since we are hosting Thanksgiving for El Hombre’s family, I am going to take the remaining bit of stress out by cleaning my house.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
