After a hectic week/month, I need slow down days like today. We wandered around a bunch of nurseries in horse country, looking for plants for our yard. As we wandered up and down leafy aisles, feeling the breeze and occasional bursts of soft rain, I felt myself starting to unwind. There’s something about being outside on overcast, rainy days that brings out a drowsy, dreamy feeling — it’s cathartic.
And now we are the owners of a new basil plant, lemon tree and cocoplum hedges. I call today a success, especially since we got everything from local growers and not any big box stores.
